A Message from the Secretaries-General
Dear Distinguished Guests,

It is with immense pride and joy that we welcome you to the inaugural Manara Model United Nations conference! Serving as your Co-Secretaries-General is deeply personal for both of us. Having been part of our school’s MUN journey from its very first day—starting in debate, participating in multiple conferences, and growing alongside the club—bringing this vision to reality is a dream come true.

When selecting the vision for our very first conference, we chose the theme Genesis—meaning the beginning.

Genesis represents the start of an extraordinary new tradition for our close-knit boarding school community, creating a space where student voices truly take center stage and where we build a legacy to be passed down to future generations. But beyond our school walls, Genesis represents a personal beginning for everyone here.

For both of us, MUN was an eye-opening catalyst. It taught us diplomacy, negotiation, public speaking, and how to actively engage with global issues. Even more importantly, it was the genesis of stronger, braver versions of ourselves—teaching us self-confidence, compassion, and the power of believing in our own potential. We firmly believe that MUN is an experience everyone should have at least once in their life.

Our vision for this conference is to bring that same beauty and magic to you. We want Manara MUN to be a safe space to explore your passions, speak from your heart, make mistakes, and build lasting bonds with those around you.

We hope this conference inspires you to form your own opinions, discover your character, and realize just how powerful your voice already is. May this inaugural conference be the genesis of something truly wonderful in your life.

Warmest regards,
Yasmine Abdelrahman and Marly Meleka

Built By Students, For Students

Manara's Model United Nations Club is one of the school's flagship student organizations, dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders, diplomats, and changemakers. Founded by passionate students, the club provides a platform for members to strengthen their public speaking, research, negotiation, and critical thinking skills through regular training sessions, workshops, and internal simulations throughout the academic year. Beyond organizing the annual Manara Model United Nations Conference (MMUN), club members participate in conferences across Egypt, collaborate on community initiatives, and take on leadership roles in planning and running events. Whether you are a first-time delegate or an experienced MUNer, the club welcomes students who are eager to challenge themselves, engage with global issues, and lead by example both inside and outside the committee room.

Diplomacy, Practiced

Model United Nations is an academic simulation in which students take on the role of country delegates, negotiating solutions to real global issues inside a committee modeled on the actual United Nations. Delegates research a country's position, write policy, debate on the floor, and work together to draft resolutions.

Whether you're stepping into a committee room for the very first time or returning with experience, MMUN is designed to challenge, inspire, and empower every delegate. Through meaningful debate, collaboration, and leadership, you'll gain confidence, build lifelong connections, and discover the impact your voice can have. We invite you to join us for a conference where diplomacy comes to life and every delegate has the opportunity to lead by example.
